City of Penticton
The award-winning campaign that put Penticton on the map
Start Here Penticton is the City’s program for attracting new residents and workforce talent. With the City’s Communications team, we built a relocation campaign that strengthened Penticton’s pull on people weighing a move, and helped earn the City the B.C. Economic Development Association’s 2026 Economic Development Marketing Innovation Award.

The City didn’t want another real estate brochure or stock lifestyle ad. They wanted people to picture themselves living, working, and building a life in the Okanagan. So we built the campaign around one honest line and three short cinematic vignettes, each showing a real Penticton advantage.
This could be their best move yet
Over six months of paid distribution on YouTube and Meta, the campaign beat platform benchmarks across the board, while the City’s Communications team carried the films further on its own channels. In a region as competitive as the Okanagan, storytelling built on lived experience doesn’t just win awards. It wins the right people’s attention, efficiently.

Three spots, three audiences
Real places, real people
A lean, mobile crew shot all three spots in a day and a half on real locations, mixing handheld and static to stay cinematic and grounded. The talent was local, including a family who had recently relocated to Penticton themselves. Each spot speaks to its own audience, and together they work as one campaign.
