The Power to Go Beyond

For over 75 years, Boundary Electric has manufactured and serviced the transformers that keep industries running — from mining operations to municipal power grids. But as the company shifted away from its small-town Grand Forks roots toward a full B2B operation with a new location in Houston, Texas, supplying EPC firms, utility developers, and a fast-growing roster of AI data center and crypto mining clients, its brand and website hadn't caught up. Tamarack took on both halves of the problem: a full rebrand and a new website to position the company to what they were scaling into.

Rewiring the Approach

‍
We built the new brand around what was already true about the company, not around an invented persona.

It started with two anchors.

The vision: put Boundary on the map as the #1 manufacturer and supplier of electrical products in North America by 2030. And the mission: to transform our people and energize the world.

Then building outward: a positioning platform, a six-part messaging framework, five value pillars, and a full visual identity system. The system stayed anchored to Boundary's existing "B" icon rather than replacing it, keeping 75 years of recognition intact while everything around it moved forward.

What We Created

‍

The result is a full brand system, verbal and visual, plus a website built to put it to work. On the verbal side: a locked tagline, "The Power to Go Beyond," backed by messaging built for six contexts — ethos, history, expertise, recruitment, customer service, and product. On the visual side: a refined logo system, a six-color palette anchored in Crimson and Carbon, and an Archivo Bold / Inter type pairing, applied across mural work, hard hats, and branded merchandise. The new website brings the whole system to life — a clean, confident design that finally makes Boundary look like the industry leader it's becoming, and works as both a sales tool and a recruitment platform.

‍

Highlights:

  • "The Power to Go Beyond" — the confirmed tagline, paired with copy built to stretch from AI data centers to 75 years of manufacturing history.
  • A 2030 vision — "#1 manufacturer and supplier of electrical products in North America" gives the brand a dated, measurable ambition rather than a vague aspiration.
